Fleet Compliance Assessments

BTT Engineering offers on-site assessments for individual and company vehicle fleets to inspect them for compliance conformance issues with the aim of ensuring they are safe, legal and fit for purpose when in operation.

These inspections can include work such as risk and OH&S assessments to ensure the fleet is compliant with current industry safety protocol, legislation and standards. These safety assessments can be uniquely tailored to any company or client, including a personalised listing of identified problems and non-conformance. From this initial assessment our company can direct and guide you towards rectifying and solving all issues found.

What are common issues found?

Through assessments we have previously completed at BTT, we have seen a range of non-conformities that operators and businesses were not aware of. Some of these items have included:

  • A range of non-ADR conformance, such as missing lighting and safety signage requirements.

  • Uncertified modifications and alterations.

  • Overloaded and over dimensional vehicles and trailers, including incorrect towing arrangements and safety chain provisions.

  • Maintenance issues such as chassis cracking, increased wear and tear due to incorrect design, manufacturing, and use.

  • Potential traffic hazards from poorly secured or stowed items on service trucks & trailers bodies.

  • Vehicle safety systems incorrectly setup and maintained.

  • Incorrect placement and or out of date medical & safety equipment.

What happens after an assessment is completed?

After the on-site inspection, BTT will formulate a clear and detailed written assessment for each vehicle or trailer in question. This document will describe and detail each relevant issue, with our recommendations on rectification.

After the overall completion of the risk assessment, when all non-conformances and problems have been rectified/fixed, a risk assessment label will be issued for attachment on the vehicle or trailer, for easy recognition and entry to certain worksites and areas, where required. The custom BTT Risk Assessment label will include unique identifiers and will be individual to each motor vehicle, trailer or equipment assessed.

What type of vehicles can we assess for you?

Our fleet compliance assessments aren’t limited solely to motor vehicles. We can inspect and assess low and high ATM trailers individually, or trailers in use as a combination within your fleet. This can include tag or dog trailers with machinery in tow.

BTT area of expertise extends through to an array of mechanical machinery as well, including:

  • Excavators, bobcats and earth moving machinery.

  • Custom use trailers and agricultural equipment.

  • Plant equipment

  • ATV’s, quad bikes and general farm oriented four-wheel vehicles.
