Performance-Based Standards (PBS)
The Performance-Based Standards (PBS) Scheme offers the heavy vehicle industry the potential to achieve higher productivity and safety through innovative and optimised vehicle design. BTT Engineering is an NHVR approved Certifier in the PBS Scheme.
ROVER/RVSA Consultation
The new Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 legislation also includes a new method of submitting compliance applications through the ROVER portal. BTT Engineering has agents who can complete submissions on your behalf and also provide guidance on meeting the requirements
Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
The Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) requires all parties involved in a freight task to ensure it can be completed safely under Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation. BTT Engineering has industry leading personnel with over 20 years’ experience available to help implement framework to ensure you are meeting your obligations.
Engineering Design
We provide design services for vehicles/trailers and related products. These include but are not limited to trailer chassis and body design, towbar and drawbar design as well as design and rating of items such load restraint and storage systems.
CAD / FEA
We provide Computer Aided Design (CAD) 3D modelling and design which can be further used to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to check for stress, deflection, fatigue limits and more in components and structures (vehicle related).
Physical Testing
Provision of physical testing to specific regulations, rules and standards required for compliance approval of entire vehicles or specific components attached to vehicles i.e. braking, seats, towbars etc.
Vehicle / Trailer Specification, Management and Consultancy
We offer a niche service to our clients by working with them from the pre-tender stage of their project through to final pre delivery signoff. We act as a consultant between our client and all external parties, ensuring the delivered vehicle/s are safe and compliant for their intended use. We are one of a few companies that offer this type of all encompassing consultancy, which can be tailored to suit our clients individual requirements.
Fleet Compliance Assessments
We offer onsite assessments of vehicle fleets, and inspect them for compliance conformance issues, with the aim ensuring they are safe, legal and fit for purpose when used operationally.
Expert Witness
BTT Engineering can provide expert witness service for court or tribunal proceedings which relate to vehicle compliance issues, failures of specific mechanical components or other issues for not only vehicles but also plant and equipment i.e. excavators. This service is also provided to insurance companies that wish to ascertain what caused a claim to arise (vehicle/trailer/plant/equipment).
NHVR / AVE / VASS Certifications
If a vehicle/trailer is modified it will require an engineering signatory to inspect the modification and ensure that it meets the required standards for compliance and registration, which is overseen by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR). BTT Engineering is an Approved Vehicle Examiner (AVE) for blue plate sign offs.
