Quality Assurance Checks

This week we have been out to complete some Quality Assurance (QA) assessments on the manufacture and installation of towbars we have designed for our client’s fleet. As towbars and body installations on light vehicles do not necessarily require certification via a modification plate, it can sometimes be taken for granted that the manufacturing and installation process produces an identical result each time. This is why we are engaged by a number of different clients to ensure conformity of production is attained on their fleet. In this case we were satisfied that no issues were present, but that isn’t always the case – in the past for other clients we have found that required items within the build have been missing or swapped out with another part not fit for purpose. This makes it hard for a fleet manager to know what the vehicle does or does not have, let alone a driver who swaps one vehicle for another and can no longer find the equipment they need!
